McKee Fehl is pleased to congratulate our owner and Managing Director, Maurice Clark on his Queen’s Birthday honour. Maurice has been made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in recognition of his services to heritage preservation and the construction industry.
“Maurice has worked tirelessly over the years to drive successful restoration and redevelopment projects. Utilising his extensive knowledge of structural engineering, has allowed him to lead McKee Fehl across a variety of challenging projects, while ensuring successful solutions on a large number of projects for Wellington. Working across a variety of heritage and seismically vulnerable buildings, Maurice has become a key asset to rescuing the city’s existing buildings with innovative and progressive buildings solutions for our clients and tenants” Stephen Cummings, General Manager
A number of Maurice’s key heritage preservation projects have included the 1904 Victoria University Hunter Building, the 1876 Law School (Old Government Building), along with the recent completion of the 1908 Public Trust Building now occupied by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage. Maurice’s engineering skills have been tested on the strengthening works for the Victoria University Rankine Brown Building, Museum of Wellington City and Sea and more recently with the onsite structural testing undertaken prior to the redevelopment of the former Defense building, 15 Stout St currently occupied by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
